7Springs/Update

SO I've been pretty quiet since the fundraiser. Thanksgiving holidays were coming up. Went to the Seven Springs for their opening weekend with my family from Maryland.
My sister Bri needed a helmet. You like? ;)

Don't worry. We found a better helmet for her.

Hello from Mt. Holly
Came back and heard about Mt. Holly having a snowboard clinics  the following weekend for those who want to become an instructor. I signed up and after last weekend, I'm now a snowboard instructor at Holly!
The holidays are coming up, and I'll have the chance to hit two birds with one stone... to ride during more during the break and to instruct those who wanna learn how to ride.

I'm also scheming for the next fundraiser event since I'm half-way from my goal. Stay tuned!

First Day of the Season!

Winter has come early once again, and the ski resorts have opened around here. It's just something about being out on the snow that brings a new kind of energy.

Went out to Mt. Holly to get warmed up and get my legs back. Had a blast. Lapped the park and just getting the feel of it. Hiked it a few times. Tried for backside 180 on and, after some falls, I finally banged it out with a pretzel 180 out. It felt good, and I'm just pumped that I got that down on my first day back. I'm going have to get that on video when I have the chance.

The local ABC news channel came out, and I got to have my face in the frame for a couple of seconds. Peep my face with a shit-eating grin at the 43 seconds mark on the video: http://www.abc12.com/story/27400349/mount-holly-opens-for-business.

She's baaaaackkkkk!

Hey guys!

Here's an ASL version of the blog: Click me!

English version:

Winter Deaflympics is back again for 2015, and we're back in the running! This time it's in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia! It'll be on March 28th - April 5th of 2015. To follow the Winter Deaflympics 2015, click LIKE on the facebook page: Facebook Page; Deaflympics 2015. There's also an official website page to follow as well: Deaflympics 2015

What happened with the Winter Deaflympics in 2011 was a shock for everyone involved, but we're brushing the dust off our shoulders and rising from the ashes!

Long story short, the coaches have asked for me to rejoin the team, and I'm excited to be back! I've kept a log of everyone who donated from 2011, and I've returned the money back. So now, I have to fundraise once again.

Fundraising costs:

$3,700 to cover the flight to Russia, uniforms, room/boarding.
I'll also need to raise additional money to help with the training costs prior to the Deaflympics event, including the flight tickets I'll need to buy to meet my team at the airport. I'm estimating this to be at about another $1,000.

To round it up, my goal is to raise $5,000.

Most importantly, I have a deadline to raise and send in $1,850 by November 15th. My second deadline to send in another $1,850 is by January 30th.

I've started up a fundraising page so people from afar can help out: Go Fund Me

There are also a few local fundraising event/ideas that I'm currently scheming up so stay tuned!
